Our Ministries

Being involved and giving back to our community and congregation is strongly encourage at Christ Our Savior. Sharing our God-given gifts with others is the best way to enrich your church-going experience.

Sunday School

We have classes for all ages Pre-K through adulthood.  The 2023-2024 school year begins on September 10th.   There will NO Sunday School classes June - August.

Music

"Next to the Word of God, the noble art of music is the greatest treasure in the world."  Martin Luther

Music is God's creation and one of the most powerful ways of glorifiying Him.  At Christ Our Savior, we use music to enhance the liturgy and encourage the congregration to see Christ's action in our lives.  This means we use traditional and contemporary resources from Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and Gospel-centered texts from the Holy Bible.

Community Service

"God does not need your good works, but your neighbor does."  Martin Luther

Doing good, feels good.  Join with us as we visit the elderly in  our community, bake pies to raise money for our local Meals on Wheels chapter, or volunteer to help with any of the listed ministry items.  Only you can build the community and church you want to see.

Elders

Elders are laymen appointed to serve the congregations in its temporal affairs and to assist the pastor in administrative tasks. An example of this found in Acts 6:1-6

In those days when the number of disciples was increasing, the Grecian Jews among them complained against the Hebraic Jews because their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food.  The Twelve gathered all the disciples together an said, "It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables.  Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom.  We will turn this responsibility over to them and will give our attention to prayer and t he ministry of the word."  This proposal pleased the whole group.  The chose Stephen, a man full of faith and theo Holy Spirit; also Philip, Procourus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas and Nicolas from Anticoch, a convert to Judaism.  They presented these men to the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them.

Each of our congregations' households have been assigned an Elder whose main function is the welfare of our members and the management of the congregation a whole, however, any Elder can respond to a member's request for assistance.

Elders meet on the first Monday of the Month at 6:30 PM in the Church basement.
